Day 2

Day 2: Use your favorite animal as your inspiration. It was either our dog Momo or a Manatee.
So I picked a Momo!

I took this photo the same day of my Day 1 project and knew I wanted to do something with it. I LOVE doing this sort of thing. I use to draw over newspaper images all of the time when I was a kid. I kind of want to do a series of these and give them more than an evening's worth of attention.

I hadn't mentioned it yet but pretty girls are my subject/common theme for this project, so I placed a pretty girl atop a Momo's head. My friend Jeremy's panda also makes a cameo appearance as a constellation in the background.

(For anyone into Avatar the Last Airbender, they might find it as amusing as I do that our dog named Momo is treated more like Appa of the same series in this picture. Or not. To anyone else I'm sure none of that made any sense :P)

Day 1

Day 1! Using materials in your imediate environment for your art that fits in the palm of your hand. I completely forgot the part about it fitting in the palm of your hand...but following rules isn't what this project is about!

In this case I used the coffee table as my canvas and the notches in the wood for my lady's nose. I used my bell necklace I left on the table since before Christmas for hair, strips of paper from an envelope for her face and a couple of wilted poinsettia leaves for the flower in her hair

I'm definitely no photographer, but maybe through these projects I'll learn to develop that skill too. Even as a simple project it was a lot of fun.
